Defining Capacity
Can you define the capacity for a resource?
A Production Resource can be a person, a piece of equipment or a workspace. Work Processes are allocated to a Resource which ensures that processes are not scheduled at a time when there are insufficient resources to complete them.
- To define Capacity select the Manufacturing Module and then select the Resource List to view/edit an existing resource
- Enter under Capacity the total number of hours the resource is available per day Eg. If the resource is Welding Bays and there are four employees working in the welding bays for eight hours per day, the capacity is 4 x 8 = 32
- If there are daily Setup times or Breakdown times for the resource subtract these from the figure above.
