Floating Price

What effect is there of NOT defining the Sell Price for the BOM?

Not defining a Fixed Sell price means that the price will change depending on the cost of the Inputs. In the case of our wagon, we give the buyer a choice of colour which has no impact on price and a choice of wheels which does change the Sell Price because some wheels are more expensive than others. Having a Floating Price ensures that you are always selling your product at the set Markup.

Note: If you change a component product in the Bill Of Materials, you must save the product and then re-open it and re-enter the Markup % to recalculate the price.

  • From the Main Menu select Inventory and create a new Product of the typeInventory Part
  • Enter a %(Ex): Cost/Sell which will be your Gross Margin % regardless of the cost of the product
  • Set the Qty Sell price as $0.00 The system will now calculate the sell price for each order
