Sales Option
Why is this done, focusing on the Manufacturing Needs and Sales Choices?
For each branch of the BOM using the OPTION input type the user must make a choice at the time of creating the Sales Order.
This ensures that the Correct Price is charged for the product. The user doesn't need to know the different prices because the system Calculates the price when the choice is made. When Choices are made in the sales order, the options selected are recorded on the BOM and passed to Manufacturing.
This ensures that the correct Stock is ordered and that the correct amount of time is Allocated when Scheduling the job
Eg. Choosing a particular brand of wheel may require an additional Process Step, say to fit a low profile tyre and therefore more time is required when Scheduling This Step and the scheduling of subsequent steps needs to be moved accordingly
