Tax Codes

'Tax Code' is a federal government document, numbering tens of thousands of pages that details the rules individuals and businesses must follow, in remitting a percentage of their incomes to the federal government.


Tax Codes- Do you understand the difference between the purchase tax codes and the sales tax code?

  • The Purchase Tax Codes are applied to your PO's to your suppliers.
  • The Sales Tax Codes are applied to your Sale's Order or Invoices to your customers.

These are set per your region.


To set your Default Tax Codes:

  • Utilities
  • Preferences
  • Inventory
  • Under Default Tax Codes for New Product

This is where you would adjust your Purchase Tax Code and your Sales Tax Code for your region.
