Resource

Have you added the process step to a resource?

A Production Resource can be a person, a piece of equipment or a workspace. Processes are allocated to a Resource which ensures that Processes are not scheduled at a time when there are insufficient resources to complete them.

  • From the Main Menu select the Manufacturing Module and then either the Resource button to create a New Resource or Resource List  button to view/edit an Existing Resource
  • Type in or Edit the following Fields
  • Resource Name - the unique identifier for the resource Description
  • Capacity Hours - the number of hours per day that the resource is available
  • Setup Hours - the number of hours to set up the resource each day (not including process specific setup time)
  • Breakdown Hours - the number of hours per day to break down or shut down the resource
  • Labour Rate Hourly
  • Hourly Overhead Rate
  • Resource Process Steps - add here all of the processes that can be allocated to the resource.

The Resource Unavailability button allows you to schedule downtime for resources such as for regular maintenance, leave time for key personnel etc. This ensures that you don't schedule a process that is unable to be performed Eg. Don't schedule welding on a day when your only qualified welder is on leave.

  • To use Resource Unavailability select the Manufacturing Module and then select the Resource Unavailability button which will load a list of Resources that have periods of unavailability scheduled
  • Significant information on this page is the Time Start and Time End which describes the period of Unavailability and Description which is the reason for the unavalability. Other columns are general information about the resource.
  • To Schedule a Resource Unavailability select NEW and then select the Name of the Resource from Drop Down list.
  • Select Start and End dates when a resource will be unavailable
  • Enter a Description of why the resource is unavailable and any other fields if applicable then Save
  • This resource will now Not be Scheduled during the unavailability times by Auto Schedule
