The reason why this is important is so that you can allocate products with specific barcodes to specific batches and bins. So now when we look at a bin or batch we can see what serial numbers (products) are attached with it.

Serial Number & Batch/Bin combined - Why is it crucial that you decide whether you will be using Batch/Bin tracking in conjunction with Serial numbers before you transact the product?

It is crucial to decide whether or not you will be using Batch/Bin tracking before you transact a product because once a serial number is allocated to your product the Batch/Bin feature is no longer accessible (Batch/Bin buttons on the product card will appear gray). When transacting you must allocate your Batch/Bin first followed by allocating any serial numbers to your product.
