Budget Variation
How do you make a variation to the budget using the variation screen?
There will be times when budgets need to be changed either for circumstantial or seasonal reasons. For example you may have copied your periods with identical amounts in each subsequent period but need to adjust for Christmas trading or end of year sales. This can be done via the Budget_List<LinkId=1138> or the Budget Variation screen. The Budget variation screen offers more options such as an accross the board percentage increase for a period whereas the Budget List requires you to enter amounts individually.
How to make a variation to the budget using the variation screen
Select Budget tab Select Budget Variation button Select a Budget from the drop down list Select the appropriate Action radio buttons - eg. select Change and Period You will now view a list of periods for the selected budget based on the date range Select a Period<LinkId=1127> If you want to apply a blanket change to all accounts in the period, enter the changes in the fields at the bottom of the screen If you wish to change individual accounts, select Choose Accounts check box and select accounts you wish to change Select Increase or Decrease for each account Select Amount or Percentage to change Enter the amount/rate that you wish to apply eg. If you want to increase budgeted amounts for an account by 15% select "Increase", "%", 15 Select Apply button
