Product Template

What is a Product Template?

When creating a product you must populate the product card. For a "Linked Product", that is one created through Product Attributes, you can populate the product card for just one product in the group and then copy those details to all of the products in the group. This product becomes the Product Template for the group.

How to populate details from a product template

• Select Inventory tab
• Select Products Attributes Button
• Select NEW button Enter details as per New_Attribute<LinkId=1180>
• Select Next to create the Products
• Select the Select All check box
• Select Create Selected Products button - you will see a progress bar as the products are created.
• Select Next button when the progress bar has finished
• Select any unwanted_products<LinkId=1189> for removal
• selectNext You will now be in the Populate Details Screen
• Select a product to be the Template in the drop down list
• Select Show Details - this will open the product card Enter details as per a new product - Save when finished
• Select the Select All check box on the left to select all products
• Select the Select All check box on the right to copy data in all fields or select fields individually if required
• Select Copy Details button Select Next - you will now see the product grid
