List Speed

List Speed - Do you know how and why you would use the Date Ranges in a list or report?

  • The Date Range Selector is a valuable tool available in almost every Report and List within ERP. You can search over any date range going backwards and forwards for Days, Weeks, Months and Years. ERP has no restriction on how large the date range is, but keep in mind that the greater the range, the greater the amount of data selected, the slower the report or list is to generate. The smaller the range , the smaller the amount of data, the faster the report or list will be.
  • The Date Range function enables the user to search for Data Transaction information within a specific date range, E.g. the current financial year, it makes it easier to find and view the data you are looking for.
  • The Date Range Selector enables the user to select through the Drop-Down Menu, accessible at the top right of the screen, to view specific dates E.g open up invoice list and the Custom date range will show (this is determined in Employee Preferences) then you can click on the Drop Down Menu to choose a specific date range:
  • The user can alsoSelect the date range by selectingFrom and To just click on the drop down menu and use the arrows to select Months then click on the Specific Date in the calender. Once selected the dates automatically update with the required information.
  • From - refers to the oldest starting date of the information you wish to view and includes the date selected.
  • To - refers to the most recent date of the information you wish to view and includes the date selected.
  • In the Report Selector, accessed by selecting the Reports tab in the top menu bar, or from the tab at the bottom on the Main Menu, the date ranges are chosen then you must either Double Click the required report or click the OK button on the report selector.
  • Use Update Batch before opening any reports, the reports will then be accurate up to the date and time as displayed in the very top windows bar.
  • You can set the default range by going into the Personal Preferences in Employees Module or by going to Utilities Module and select Employee.
  • Under the heading of Default Employee's List Date Range. Below it you will see # Day Past and # Days Forward. Enter the figures in both the fields to see the default range data in any list or report.
