Columns - Customise
Columns - Customise - Do you know how to customise your lists to display the columns you wish to view?
- Select the list or report that you wish to customise E.g. Select Sales from the main menu.
- Select Customer Express List button and the customer list appears.
- Click Customise from the bottom of the list. This will open the Customise screen for Customer Express List.
- Tick in front of the fields that you want to view in the list.
- Un-Tick in front of the fields that you do not want to view in the list.
- These fields may vary from lists to list but the basic functionality is the same.
- Double clicking on any field will allow you to rename the Field Header in the list, but this is not recommended.
- Below under Save Setting for, you will see two radio options User and Global.
- Selecting User will make the customise changes for the logged in person only.
- Selecting Global will make changes for every user on the database.
- Clicking on Enable Grid Lines will show the list in grid format. Un-ticking Enable Grid Lines will remove the grids from the list.
How to add new columns to the list
- Click on Customise button.
- Click New under Custom Column heading.
- Type the name for the new column.
- Click OK.
- The newly created column will be in the customise list screen now.
- The Formula Column and Display Format will now be available to enter a Formula if required.
- Right click in Formula Column which will give you mathematical options to apply.
- You can now build the formula using existing columns and mathematics.
- You can also choose how to display the column by simply choosing a format from the Display Format field.
How to make a custom report
Within the customise screen you can make Custom Reports
- Select Customise.
- Click on Custom Report Tab.
- Write Report Name.
- Select Report Selector Tab (Optional). This allow you to place your custom report under specific modules reports. So when you open report selector you will find your custom report in that module and also under My Reports.
- If you only name the report and choose not to place it in any other Module, the report will only be visible in the My Reports area of the Report Selector .
- After you have named the report and placed it in other visible areas (if desired) click the Create Custom Report button to activate.
After creating any changes you require, click OK to Save changes.
